Course Reflection

what unit was your favorite/did you learn the most from in math this year, and why:
Our second to last unit, titled "Do bees build it best" was most definitely my favorite. The main reason for this was that during the unit we did trigonometry. Throughout the unit, I learned that I really enjoy trigonometry. Even though I had never done trigonometry before, everything came rather easily. My favorite part of it was doing sohcahtoa and solving for missing sides.

what piece of assigned work was your favorite/did you learn the most from in math this year, and why:
The "Pythagorean Practice" sheet was definitely my favorite. I say this because it was satisfying to get all the answers right when this too was also a new subject for me. On the sheet, there were various right triangles that had one side missing. I used the Pythagorean Theorem to find each of the missing sides. This was fun because on a couple of them I got really confused with which was side a, b, or, c. I had fun troubleshooting and thinking of which was going to be the most realistic letter for each side.

what are you most proud of this from this year:
I think that my "Solve It" and "Do Bees Build it Best" portfolios are the ones I'm most proud of. This would be because those two units I had a lot of fun with, so putting the portfolios together and show of my work felt good. Even though some of the stuff in there wasn't my best work it showed a great amount of growth and learning. Some of the work is refined and some of it is just working that I had to do. A couple of the pieces in there were more of a challenge and then there are pieces that I feel really good about. Either way, I'm happy with both of these portfolios.
